Ignacio Ordin
ORDIN, Ignacio 'Nacho'
STRENGTHS: Short and disciplined point-guard. Ideal for rigid systems. He’s very good at executing the schemes. He’s intelligent and does very few mistakes. Has solid passing and dribbling skills. He knows when to push the ball up on the break. His main strength is his three-point shot, be that with a jump shot or coming the screens. Good execution of the Pick & Rolls. Seldom misses a free-throw. CAREER: He came up with Leon. He had his first ACB experience in 1998-99 and the successive year he became part of the rotation. Following a season in which he nearly averaged double figures in LEB, he moved to Granada, where he fitted in perfectly and played 5 seasons, greatly contributing in his team’s promotion to the ACB in 2003-04 with 14ppg. Then, he played in the ACB for a couple of seasons before going back down in LEB, where he could have a better impact. EVALUATION: He’s neither a great athlete nor a talent but he did a good job in the ACB, establishing himself as a good player in low-level teams. He is disciplined, knows how to run a team and contributes on the scoreboard thanks to his excellent shooting from three. Limited potential and margin for improvement but still a good player.
