Vule AVDALOVIC
AVDALOVIC, Vule
STRENGTHS: A pass-first point guard who thinks more of his teammates than his stats. A leader, he brings confidence to the team and to the coach. On offense, he’ll take the responsibility when the team needs it most. He’s developing into a great three-point shooter as his stats have improved a lot in the ACB. No-nonsense player, makes very few mistakes. Good defender on the ball, versatile. Has a good body structure. Tough guy, a competitor. WEAKNESSES: He’s not a big scorer and hasn’t got that much talent. Athletically, he lacks explosiveness and quickness. Has ups and downs with his three-point shooting. Confidence level can waver as if he was forgetting about his ability to get the basket. Not the type of point guard who likes to up the tempo and push it up on the fast break. Finds it difficult to create from nothing. CAREER: Came up with Partizan. Had to play second fiddle first to Vujanic and then to Gerald Brown. When Vujanic moved to Italy, he gained court time and improved so much that he earned the call from the national team. Had a great season at Valencia where he surprised many people averaging 13.5ppg with the 45% from three, becoming the leader of the team. A serious injury stopped his progress and he moved to Alicante to get back on track in 2009-10. Signed for Cholet, France, in summer 2010. EVALUATION: Not a natural talent but the kind of player that is appreciated for the way he competes on the court and the way he makes his teammates look better players. Underestimated, his first season at Valencia opened the eyes of many observers on his real value. Has everything it takes to confirm the goods he’s producing with Valencia. Maybe not one of the big stars at his position but definitely an excellent player.
