Daniel MCCLINTOCK
McCLINTOCK, Dan
STRENGTHS: A true and big center. If he’s fed, he can score points. He takes deep position, he makes good use of his body to protect himself and he’s effective around the basket because he has technique and and decent hands. A presence in both paints, he puts the opponents who want to drive off. Good understanding of the game. He plays with will and has a good mentality and attitude. CAREER: A second round pick in the NBA draft after a good career in a little college. He played briefly with the pros and a bit in Italy. He took part in the summer leagues and played in the minors without ever making himself noticed. He emigrated in China and Latvia as well but he found his home in France at Nancy. His move to Germany slowed him down but he rejuvenated in Ukraine (18.4pts, 7.6rbds at Mykolaiv). Signed for Azovmash in 2010. EVALUATION: A good player with limited tasks. He brings his size and good attitude in the paint. He used to be labelled a ‘disappointment’ but he did a good job of improving his game. He has now an impact on both ends of the court. On defense, he’s either a part-time starter or a back up. He came back strong recently after two disappointing seasons.
