Steve VANDE GENACHTE
N'DOYE, Maleye
STRENGTHS: Small forward who has improved with consistency. Good body structure for basketball: he’s tall, slender, long-armed. He plays with a surprising mentality, he knows what he can do and never overdoes it. He moves a lot and well without the ball. He does a good job of getting open to receive and trigger his lethal shot. He can hit the jumper as well. Excellent assist man. A factor on defense and rebounds. CAREER: He played in a little college. He had an excellent senior year with 16ppg, 5.4rpg. He arrived in Europe without drawing much attention. He had a difficult start with Benfica, where he was cut halfway through the season. He showed interesting things with Dijon, where he stayed three years and improved his scoring every season. Earned a call from Le Mans but he disappointed. Signed for Orleans in 2010. EVALUATION: Very interesting player. Before the spell in Le Mans he had improved year after year. He will never play at the very top level because he lacks talent and instincts for the game but he does know what he has to do on court and he’s happy to stick to his tasks without forcing anything. He combines his good size and attitude to his excellent shot.
