Rashad ANDERSON
ANDERSON, Rashad
STRENGTHS: A guard that can play as a third outside player. A pure shooter that has a lot of confidence in his offensive game. He can be the go-to guy and take responsibility in the clutch moments. Solid mechanic, lethal shooter, he needs little time: he can score off the dribble, coming off the screens, catch-and-shoot, with the hand on his face. Solid body structure, he absorbs well the physical contacts, he can play in the low post. WEAKNESSES: A finisher, he does not do much else except for scoring. The shot selection is typical of the first offensive option, the percentages will never be his forte. Powerful but not that quick, he struggles to drive past his man. He sometimes is predictable with his shooting, he’s a poor ball-handler (turnovers) and does not excel in kicking the ball out. CAREER: He played four years in the important college of Uconn and won the NCAA title in 2003-04. He never had resonant stats in a team full of talented players, but he established himself as one of the best shooters around and a player averaging double figures in all his four European seasons. EVALUATION: He came out of an excellent school and has great offensive attributes. He’s not NBA material because he lacks size and creativity in 1-on-1 situations but if he learns to work with the right mentality, he can become an important player. His shooting is first class and his attitude is not bad. So far he has done good things but never had a chance on a big team. Still he remains one to watch if he improves in the little things.
