Harold JAMISON
JAMISON, Harold
STRENGTHS: Short but extremely powerful center. He likes to hang around the basket. If he’s fed with consistency, he can have an impact as a scorer inside. He has size and extremely quick feet. He possesses an array of moves with his back to the basket and he’s tough to contain in 1-on-1 situations. A factor on the offensive glass, he has a decent defensive attitude. A competitor. WEAKNESSES: He’s too short to be a center at the top level. He struggles to score in traffic, he’s not an explosive leaper. On offense, he overdoes it, charging head down too often. Poor technique and touch. Far too many turnovers. Paltry percentages from the line. Tactical intelligence? CAREER: He had an excellent college career, with one season nearly averaging a double double in the best NCAA conference. This earned him a place in the NBA, where he played with Miami and the Clippers, without ever really be part of the rotation, though. He had his first steps in Europe in Poland but he found his ideal place in Italy with Avellino and Scafati. Two starring years at Ferrara, helping the team to go up, but then he faded and the team went back down. Signed in Turkey in 2010. EVALUATION: A very good player who, before his summer move, had settled in Italy, where he’s always done well, be that in Lega2 or in A. At the right level, he can make the difference because he can score points and create openings for his teammates on the perimeter thanks to his inside presence. At a superior level, with ambitious teams, his flaws become evident.
