Dimitri JORSSEN
JORSSEN, Dimitri
STRENGTHS: Center with interesting combination of size and athleticism. He’s tall and has a good body structure: broad shouldered, big and strong. Considering his size, he runs well on the open court. Excellent leaper. He plays with competitive spirit, he works hard in the paint using his body. He sacrifices on defense, he spends his fouls. The baby hook (left or right) is his main weapon on offense. WEAKNESSES: He lost his way a bit after some interesting progress. He’s never managed to control his exuberance, he always exaggerates on the contacts, making many useless fouls. He has little agility and his footwork in narrow spaces is average. He’s better on the offensive glass than the defensive one. On offense, he has few options, he needs the others to create and kick it out for him. Technically weak. Suspect touch and instinct. CAREER: He’s Belgium but learned his basketball in the States. He played for three years with Utah State, after his debut at Pepinster and a year in a JC. He came out with 8.7ppg and 4.7rpg as a senior. He came back to Belgium and Pepinster where he did well (7.8ppg and 5.5rpg), earning himself a call from Charleroi. Disappointing, he has become a simple fringe player in the Belgium league. EVALUATION: A center with exceptional physical attributes and ideal qualities to be a role player. It looked as though he was about to step up a level at Liege, he even had a try-out in Milan but he did not reach the expectations. Overall, a player with size and leaping ability but will he ever learn to play the game?
