Marino BAZDARIC
BAZDARIC, Marino
STRENGTHS: Forward with solid fundamentals. He can score and take responsibilities. He has a good attitude. Even though he is a scorer, he does not overdo it. He’s a good mover without the ball, making himself open to score easy baskets. He can score the triple coming off the screens. Well-known as a shooter, he’s improving his 1-on-1 game. WEAKNESSES: Athletically average, he lacks quickness, explosiveness and vertical leap. This prevents him from being more threatening in 1-on-1 situations. He struggles to create his own shot, especially in emergency situations. Though he has improved his passing game, he remains a player that needs to score to be useful to the team. A streaky player. On defense, he makes do with a footwork below average. CAREER: Born in Rijeka, he’s been one of the top scorers of the Croatian league for years while playing in his hometown. However, the consecration came in Slovenia when he played for Ljubljana where he had three excellent seasons, be that in the league or in the Euroleague. In 2005-06, he seemed to be on his way to Russia but eventually went to Cibona. He moved to Menorca, Spain, where he stayed for three years before coming back home with Cedevita in 2009-10. EVALUATION: He played at an excellent level in the Adriatic league. Very much appreciated player, he has a solid game and a very good attitude. He possesses the attributes and the spirit to be the leader of the pack. He loves to take the clutch shots. In the ACB, he struggled to maintain a high level of play, often forced to invent plays.
