Lazaros AGADAKOS
AGADAKOS, Lazaros
STRENGTHS: Center with a team-first mentality. He gets the maximum out of his potential. He sacrifices for the good of the team. He can either play 4 or 5. He plays with the same intensity as a starter or coming off the bench. He has character, physical strength and a good body structure. He does a lot of dirty work, he is not afraid of physical contact. He knows what he can do and does not pretend to have much responsibility. He finishes off from kick outs. Decent technique. WEAKNESSES: He lacks a little something to play constantly as a center, his natural position. He has the dynamism to play as a 4, but he lacks lateral mobility and the capacity to open up spaces with his outside shooting (decent but he lacks confidence). As a center, he does not have the size to guard the true centers, and he lacks presence in the paint (rebounds). He’s not a big threat in 1-on-1 situations from a standstill. He does not have a great feel for the game. CAREER: He started off in the lower divisions before signing for Panionios in summer 1999. After a couple of seasons spent on the bench, he began to be part of the rotation and show his quality. He had 5.9ppg in 2001-02 and then broke out with 7.2ppg and 7.3rpg the following year. He moved to Maroussi where he did well (6.3ppg, 3.7rpg), earning himself a call from Olimpiacos, where he stayed two seasons. He had limited minutes there and in other big teams two (PAOK and Aris). He went recently to less important clubs but his court time did not increase. EVALUATION: An excellent physical player who plays and sacrifice for the team. He had his chances in top teams like Olimpiacos, maybe at a superior level than what he deserves, but he’s a player always appreciated for his fighting spirit and his physical style of play. He does not have the talent to be a star but he can be a good frontline player in average teams.
