Moussa BADIANE
BADIANE, Moussa
STRENGTHS African with the typical qualities of this school. Slender body, he’s very tall and long-armed. He’s very quick and reactive, he runs the court very well. Jumps with ease. Excellent attitude, unpretentious on offense and generous on defense, always there to help, especially as a shot-blocker. WEAKNESSES The flaws are as typical as the qualities, he’s tall but lightweight, he struggles when physical contact occurs. Body control is weak. On defense, he takes hurried decisions. Keen rebounder but does not have a feel for it. On offense, he only scores occasionally. Has to work on his technique and hands, as he has very little natural talent. CAREER Has Senegal origins but he was born in Paris, he’s Pape Badiane’s brother. He started his career in Nancy’s youth ranks before trying the American adventure. Recruited by a second-division college, he had 4 seasons in crescendo with Eastern Carolina. However, he did not confirm the excellent freshman year. Back in France, he had a good season in the Pro B with Aix Maurienne in 2009-10 but never got more than 15 minutes in the top division. Signed for Nancy again in summer 2010. EVALUATION: One of the many players from Senegal with French passport, who populate the low-average leagues in Europe. Has the usual interesting physical and athletic potential, to which, however, it seems difficult to add a good game. He makes himself useful thanks to his vitality and his capacity to be productive in the paint with block shots and dirty work. A player with limited responsibility.
