Damir KRUPALIJA
KRUPALIJA, Damir
STRENGTHS: Power forward with good size and athletic potential. Slender, he runs the court fine, has decent coordination. He’s quick and has leaping ability. He does a lot on offense, he plays with will and takes initiatives. He works without the ball, runs in the open court. He can get open for the three or get in the paint for second shots. WEAKNESSES: His game lacks a bit of quality and discipline. He gets caught getting carried away by his excessive competitive spirit, hurrying shots on offense where he can score in many ways but where he lacks natural talent. He tends to force the issue with unnecessary drives (he charges head down) or difficult shots. Not consistent. Makes many fouls. CAREER: From Bosnia but he played ball in an American high school and went to the prestigious college of Illinois. His best stats in the NCAA came in his senior year with 7.6ppg and 4.8rpg. Back in Europe, he did well in Poland (13ppg, 7.7rpg) before moving to Charleroi in 2003-04. He first had an important role, but then he became a back up. Starring role at Dijon, where he stayed 3 years before moving to Hieres-Toulon in 2010. EVALUATION: There were moments in which he seemed ready to step up a level but he failed to reach the expectations in Belgium. Did better in France with more minutes. He has an interesting potential because he has size, athleticism and decent technique. His problem is that he does not manage to put all these qualities together on a regular basis. Emotional.
