Jacobs JAACKS
JAACKS, Jacob
STRENGTHS: A true competitor. Perfect in his role of center with fighting spirit. Excellent mentality, he has size and loves physical contact. He possesses athletic attributes as well: quick in the open court, has leaping ability and he’s dynamic. He makes his presence felt in both paints. Superb rebounder on both end of the court. He racks up points from seconds shots and kick outs. Occasionally scores the three. WEAKNESSES: Limited talent. He needs to be fed on the move. He tends to take shots that are out of his range or capacity, especially from the low post. No feel for the game, suspect touch, too exuberant. There are days in which the offense can suffer from his presence. Limited lateral mobility or explosiveness from a standstill. Average passer and poor free-throw shooter. CAREER: He had to work hard to make his way up the ladder. He started in a division 2 college, in Iowa, where he was a role player. His European adventure started in the French ProB, where he was consistently the top rebounder of the league. He broke out at Biella, nearly averaging a double-double. Then he was mysteriously cut at Pavia. He did well at Biella and Udine. Played the Uleb Cup with Kiev but had limited minutes like in Teramo and Afula. Moved to Bonn, Germany, in summer 2010. EVALUATION: A praiseworthy attitude, very appreciated guy. He has clear flaws and tends to have negative streak on offense but he has an awful lot of energy and he’s a furious rebounder. Since his Italian debut, he’s improved year after year. Once cut in Lega2, he established himself as a solid center for average team in the top division a few years later.
