Michael-Hakim JORDAN
JORDAN, Michael-Hakim
STRENGTHS: A point-guard that suddenly discovered his scoring talent. Solid body, he’s not tall but big and strong. Good athlete, he can change rhythm off the dribble as he has ball-handling ability. He goes in traffic fearless and has good body control: he can take shots after the contact. A threat above all on the Pick & Rolls, he can score the triple behind the screens, hit the pull up jumper and also kick it out. Great personality and excellent attributes. WEAKNESSES: In the past, he was considered to be too altruist. On offense, he has now become a point-guard that looks first at the basket and then thinks of passing the ball. A lot of personality, but he puts his teammates in the shadow. The team has to adapt to his style of play: he holds onto the ball a lot and charges head down. He tends to make mistakes and turn the ball over. The defensive intensity is weakening. CAREER: He came out of an average college but with great credentials (player of the year of the Ivy league, invited at the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament). He found it hard to settle in Europe. After a brief stint in France and in the IBL, he played in the Spanish LEB and even went down to the BBL2. He broke out with Artland, where he had three excellent seasons. He appeared at Ventspils and won the title at Köln. Italy was too much for him. Germany turned out to be the ideal league for him. EVALUATION: A strange player. In Germany, he is a point-guard who controls the tempo, who focuses on not doing many mistakes and involving his teammates. In Italy, in a different system, he became a pure scorer. He did not always excel in setting the tempo on offense but he was prone to big scoring outbursts, especially in the clutch time. He proved he could do many things well, but how many at the same time?
