Georgios PRINTEZIS
PRINTEZIS, Georgios
STRENGTHS: Forward with good physical and athletic tools. Plays as a power forward for he has size, strength, a positive attitude and he is a presence in the paint. He has the technical skills, the fundamentals and the mentality of a guard. Loves to face the basket using his quickness and his explosiveness. He attacks the rim without fear, drives the baseline. He can absorb contact. He usually knows what to do with the ball, be it a pass or a wide-open jumper. WEAKNESSES: Has to complete and improve his game. He shines on and off, still hasn't got the personality of a leader. On offense, he has to improve his shooting mechanics and gain confidence in his 3-point shot. He needs room to shoot. He tends to make extra passes when it’s not needed. As a power forward he's not a solid rebounder. Bad free-throw shooter. He is a bit immature, he lacks experience. CAREER: An Olympiacos product. He spent years in Piraeus, debuted in 2002-03 but has never enjoyed noteworthy court time in the senior team. His first important season was 2005-06, when he recorded his career-highs in points and minutes. Member of the Greek junior national team, he played at the Under 16 European Championships (6.9ppg 3.1rpg) and twice at the Under 20 European Championships. Left Olympiacos for Malaga in 2009-10. Still playing there. EVALUATION: Interesting player, not a natural talent but an athletic and good-sized player, who is working on his offensive game. He knows how to hold his own. He is aggressive but never exaggerates. He can adapt to his team's system and doesn't make many mistakes. He doesn’t have the technical tools to aim that high, but he has room for improvement, especially from the arc.
