Cass MATHEUS
MATHEUS, Cassiano
STRENGTHS: A center with great physical attributes. He’s tall, powerful, without any fat whatsoever, physically strong. He plays with an excellent attitude and the fighting spirit. He knows what he can do and does not overdo it. He runs the court, he’s good in static situations. He’s a keen help defender. Has a decent touch on offense. He takes high-percentage shots. Ok from the line. CAREER: Brazilian from São Paolo. After the beginning of his career in his country, where he played for Palmeira and with Riberaio, he tried the NCAA adventure in 2003-04. He played with Utah State, not one of the main college but still an important one in its conference. He had three years always under the double figure mark. In Europe, he covered fringe roles in Paris, France, in 2006-07 and in Belgium in 2010-11. EVALUATION: Physically impressive, his attitude is good. He has the will to fight and sacrifice. The problem is that he has so much to work on to become a basketball player. He’s always late, he should make his size felt more in the paint. Average on the rebound. He’s still fairly young but he’s not a little boy any more. Does he have a big margin for improvement?
