Gerald BROWN
BROWN, Gerald
STRENGTHS: Old fashioned point-guard. He does a lot of little things. He’s a leader which conveys tranquillity to his teammates and confidence to his coach. He fits in perfectly in a disciplined system. Possesses solid dribbling and passing fundamentals and he knows how to push the ball up court. He never overdoes it, he rarely makes any mistakes and he can set the tempo. He’s a good 1-on-1 defender. He has a lot of experience. CAREER: He came up in Pepperdine. He was out for one year because of a knee injury. He had an excellent senior year with 16.9ppg and 5.4rpg. He was called at the pre-draft camps and he played for the Suns (fringe role) before playing in the minors in the USA. He arrived in Europe in Israel but it’s with Partizan, Serbia, that he broke out. He did well in Berlin but was not as good when he returned to Serbia. Average as well when he moved to the ACB. He flew out to Australia to play for the Perth Wildcats. He did fine the following year in Poznan, before experiencing a few games in the Argentine league. EVALUATION: A good point-guard who knows how to run a team. He has now reached the end of a good career. In the ACB, he showed he could do a decent job as long as he was not asked to do what he struggles to: play at a high tempo, creativity and scoring on offense, put pressure on the ball on defense.
