Josiah JAMES
JAMES, Josiah
STRENGTHS: Inside power forward. Excellent leaping ability with the capacity to jump several times in a row. Good attitude, he’s alert, he fights inside against bigger guys. He does not overdo it. He does not need to shoot to feel involved. He produces points from occasional situations with hooks and athletic plays. Does an awful lot of dirty work on defense, where he helps and shows fighting spirit. WEAKNESSES: An old-fashioned 4. He rarely face-up and does not possess any weapon when he gets away from the paint: has little confidence in his mid-range shot, his ball handling ability is too weak to attack and work his way to the basket. Limited talent, he has little impact on offense. Poor free-throw shooter. Technically raw (passing and ball-handling). CAREER: From the Virgin Island, he went to High School in Florida. He started his college career in a little CC. Then he spent a year in a low division college before making his debut in division 1. He ended his senior year with 13.7ppg and 6.3rbg. As a pro, he played two excellent seasons in England (amongst the best scorer and rebounder) and one year in Germany. Two encouraging seasons in Belgium before ending up in France’s second division. EVALUATION: A decent substitute or part-time starter for average or low-level leagues in Europe. He emerged from the anonymity improving bit by bit. He’s an excellent athlete, with an energetic body and quality. He makes himself useful doing the little things and he’s happy with his limited responsibility. He can do well in leagues that are not particularly demanding technically. Does not have great talent or feel for the game.
