In an All-Euroleague showdown, Lottomatica Roma thrashed AJ Milano in the Italian capital also on Sunday. Roma improved to 10-11 while Milano dropped to 15-6. Charles Smith paced the winners with 18 points. Darius Washington had 17, Nemanja Gordic added 13, Luigi Datome 12 and Vladimir Dasic 10. Jonas Maciulis led Milano with 15 points. David Hawkins added 12 while Stefano Mancinelli had 10 for the guests. It was a balanced game for 25 minutes but a 13-2 run broke the game open, 56-43, at the end of the third quarter. Smith had 13 points in the final 10 minutes to make sure Roma grabbed an important win. Pepsi Caserta improved to 10-11 by topping Enel Brindisi 90-76 at home on Sunday. Timmy Bowers led Caserta with 16 points. Ebi Ere and Martin Colussi each added 14, Fabio Di Bella had 12 while Jumaine Jones got 10 and 11 rebounds for the winners, that led 76-58 after 30 minutes and never looked back. Bennet Cantu thrashed Air Avellino 91-67 to move up to 15-6. Mike Green and Maarten Leunen led the winners with 16 points each. Jonathan Tabu added 14, Manu Markoishvili had 12 while Denis Marconato and Nicolas Mazzarino each got 10 for Cantu, that rolled in the fourth quarter to round a big home win. Benetton Bwin dropped to 9-12 due to a 78-72 road loss against Banca Tercas Teramo. Drake Diener led Teramo with 25 points.
