KK Cedevita’s Aleksandar Petrovic stepped down as the team’s head coach following an 83-82 loss in the Croatian Kresimir Cosic Cup on Wednesday. Zadar edged Cedevita on a last-second shot from Ivan Batur. "Because of the incalculable embarrassment for the club, I submit an irrevocable resignation as coach of Cedevita. If you lose this way, only the coach can be to blame," said Petrovic. "This team has not forgotten to play basketball, but after this inexplicable defeat, as a coach I have to suffer the consequences because I was unable to prepare the team the right way."
Cedevita returns to Eurocup action next Tuesday with a road game at Gran Canaria 2014. Cedevita is tied for second place in Group I with a 1-2 record and three games remaining.
