Montepaschi Siena’s All-Euroleague point guard Bo McCalebb will miss the start of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Top 16 with a broken toe, the club revealed on Tuesday. McCalebb will miss several weeks after suffering the injury during Sunday’s Italian League game against Dinamo Sassari. Further examination confirmed that McCalebb has a broken bone in the fifth metatarsus of his left foot. Montepaschi and the player have yet to decide and confirm if he will undergo surgery and how much time he will be sidelined, but even in a best-case scenario McCalebb is not expected to rejoin the team by the start of the Top 16 and he may miss the Italian Cup final eight early next month, too. In his first season with the perennial Italian League champs, McCalebb was among the Euroleague’s top five in scoring (15.5ppg.), index ranking (18.1ppg.) and steals (2.4spg.), while leading his team to an 8-2 record and first place in Group C.
