Fenerbahce took the big showdown atop the Turkish League standings by edging archrivals Galatasaray Cafe Crown 83-80 at home on Saturday. Fener leads the standings with a 24-3 record and Galatasaray is second at 21-6. Marko Tomas and Roko Ukic paced the winners with 17 points apiece. Omer Onan added 15, Oguz Savas had 14 while Darjus Lavrinovic got 10 for Fener. Rado Rancik led Galatasaray with 20 points. Luksa Andric added 19 while Jerry Johnson and Evren Buker each had 10 for the guests, that trailed for the best part of the game but tied it at 76-76. Ukic and Savas stepped up in crunch time to win it for Fener. Efes Pilsen moved up to 20-7 by overwhelming Oyak Renault 66-110 on the road also on Wednesday. Bootsy Thornton led the winners with 19 points. Cenk Akyol added 16, Kerem Gonlum had 13, Igor Rakocevic got 12 while Lawrence Roberts and Flip Murray each contributed
