In France, the names of the main protagonists of the season have been revealed. The French MVP is Michael Gelabale (Asvel) and the Foreign MVP is Sammy Mejia (Cholet), who led his team to first place in the regular season for the second year in a row.
As for the other awards, Erman Kunter, who was surprisingly not the coach of the season last year despite upsetting the big guns and winning the regular season (and then the title) with Cholet, did receive it this time around after yet another breakthrough. His team has won it with two games still to play.
The best prospect and the Most Improved Player awards both went to Poitiers’ Evan Fournier, while Rick Hughes received his trophy of top scorer of the season. Finally, Nancy’s John Linehan was named best defender.
