Kobe Bryant had the ball slip out of his hand as he attempted the shot to win the game and the Jazz escaped from LA with an 86-85 victory. Rookie, Gordon Hayward scored a career high 22 points.
The Jazz were up by three with seconds ticking down when Kobe stepped up with a big one off the bounce to tie-it at 85. Hayward made 1 of 2 from the line and then the Lakers star could not get his shot off.
Meanwhile, OKC snapped Denver’s 10 home game winning streak as Kevin Durant scored 32 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Also, Tony Parker helped San Antonio end a four game road slide with 26 points to beat Atlanta. There were wins for Orlando, Chicago and Boston.
