Olympiacos keeps leading the Greek League standings with a perfect 21-0 record, with Panathinaikos right behind at 20-1. Both Greek League giants had to battle hard to register respective wins on Friday. Panathinaikos edged Aris 69-75 in Thessaloniki behind 14 points from Stratos Perperoglou. Dimitris Diamantidis added 13, Romain Sato had 12 while Ian Vougioukas got 10 for the Greens. Kostas Charalampidis led Aris with 16 points. Edin Bavcic added 13 while John Thomas had 10 for the hosts, that trailed 42-61 late in the third quarter. Aris managed to get within 69-70 with a minute left but Diamantidis and Perperoglou sealed the outcome down the stretch. Olympiacos topped Ilissiakos 73-70 at home with 17 points from a recovered Ioannis Bourousis. Vassilis Spanoulis and Rasho Nesterovic each had 10 for the Reds. A dunk by Michalis Pelekanos and a free throw by Kostas Papanikolaou kept Olympiacos out of trouble in crunch time. PAOK edged Panellinios 62-63 on the road on Saturday. Rawle Marshall led the winners with 19 points. Todor Gecevski added 12 while Michalis Giannakidis had 10 for PAOK. Steven Smith and Manolis Papamakarios each had 14 points for Panellinios while Vassilis Xanthopoulos added 12. Giannakis and late free throws by Marshall allowed PAOK to seal the outcome. In other games, AEK defeated Kavala 79-64 while Ikaros edged Peristeri 74-68.
