Fenerbahce Ulker is the Turkish Cup champion! FB Ulker lifted its second consecutive Turkish Cup trophy by downing Besiktas Cola Turka 72-81 in the title game in Kayseri on Sunday. Emir Preldzic paced the winners with 35 points on 7-of-9 two-pointers, 5-of-7 three-pointers and 6-of-7 free throws in just 25 minutes. He had 29 second-half points to lead Fenerbahce to win the title. Kaya Peker added 13 while Oguz Savas had 10 for Fener. AJ Ogilvy led Besiktas with 24 points and 14 rebounds. Mire Chatman added 22 points while Marcelus Kemp had 10 for Besiktas. Kemp had 5 points late in the first quarter and Ogilvy scored at the buzzer to keep Besiktas within 19-20 after 10 minutes. A three-point play by Ogilvy soon gave Besiktas a 25-24 edge. Savas tried to change things for Fener but Chatman tied the game again, 37-37, at halftime. Preldzic had 10 points, including a couple of three-pointers, in a 4-14 run that Sarunas Jasikevicius capped with a basket that gave Fener its first double-digit lead, 47-58. Ogilvy brought Besiktas within 51-58 after 30 minutes. Preldzic took over with 19 fourth-quarter points but Besiktas stayed within 72-77 with 1:48 to go. Free throws by Omer Onan and Peker allowed Fener to seal the outcome down the stretch, sending their fans to celebrate another Turkish Cup title.
