Larry Brown, a hall of famer, stepped down as head coach of the Charlotte Bobcats. Paul Silas will take over until the end of the season as an interim coach. NBA champions with the Detroit Pistons in 2004, Larry Brown has been one of the best coaches around for years, he led the Bobcats to their first playoff appearance last season but things were not shaping too well this season. Jordan’s club was showing a poor 9-19 record with 3 games lost by over 30 points in the last 10 days. “The team has clearly not lived up to either of our expectations – said Bobcats chairman Michael Jordan – We both (with Larry Brown) agreed a change was necessary”. Amongst the various teams that Larry Brown coached, there were the Indiana Pacers of Reggie Miller, the Philadelphia 76ers of Allen Iversen and of course the Detroit Pistons, where he got his only NBA title.
