Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv continued to cruise in the Israeli League by beating Barak Netanya 71-85 on the road on Sunday. Maccabi improved to 14-1 behind a big night by Doron Perkins, who netted 28 points. Sofoklis Schortsanitis added 17 and Lior Eliyahu scored 13. The hosts started strong and led 26-18 after 10 minutes, but Perkins led a 0-9 run in the second quarter as Maccabi built a 35-42 halftime lead and never looked back. Romeo Travis led Netanya with 19 points and 9 rebounds and Tony Washam added 15. Meanwhile Hapoel Migdal Jerusalem silenced Maccabi Haifa at home 95-90 to remain in second place with a 10-5 mark. A huge third quarter in which Hapoel scored 36 points made the difference. Dion Dowell led Hapoel with 18 points, Will Solomon added 17 and Yogev Ohayon finished with 16 and 11 assists. Hapoel Gilboa/Galil Elyon topped Hapoel Holon 74-69 as Dagan Yivzori made 7 of 12 three-pointers for 21 points. Also Sunday, Maccabi Rishon Lezion beat Ironi Ashkelon 88-89.
