Marcelinho Huertas continued his brilliant run of form Thursday in leading Caja Laboral to a 78-63 victory over Unicaja and snagging MVP of the Week honors in the process. Huertas had 18 points on near-perfect shooting plus 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals for a career-high performance index rating of 30. The win put Laboral in pole position in Group E and the Spanish champs can clinch first place in the group with a win next week at Lietuvos Rytas. Huertas became the first player to win MVP honors twice in the Top 16 since Lynn Greer, then with Olympiacos, did so in the 2007-08 season. The 27 year old from Brazil is also tied with teammate Fernando San Emeterio for the best performance index rating average after five games of the Top 16 (20.6 per game).
