German regular season winners Brose Baskets Bamberg are on the verge of signing Latvian hot shot Janis Timma.
The 18-year-old, who played for Latvia's youth teams and is currently on the books of Barons, made a very good impression on a recent one-week trial at Bamberg.
"I am delighted with the boy," Bamberg boss Chris Fleming said.
"He is extremely athletic for his age and has the right attitude."
Timma has been turning heads since last summer, when he stood out for Latvia at the U18 European Championship in Lithuania, averaging 11.2 points and four rebounds in 24.7 minutes per contest as his national team took bronze.
He shot 15 of 47 from long range and also ranked 10th in the tournament with an average of 1.8 steals per game.
Timma is so highly rated that he could end up playing for Latvia at the U20 European Championship this summer.
