Rimas Kurtinaitis has reportedly agreed on terms of contract with Khimky. The Lithuanian specialist is expected to sign a deal in the upcoming days. Khimky are now guided by Oleg Meleschenko who temporarily replaced Sergio Scariolo. Kurtinaitis started the season in Latvia working with VEF Riga. The last two seasons Rimas Kurtinaitis coached Lietuvos Rytas. The 50-year-old coach led the Vilnius powerhouse to the LKL success in 2009 and 2010. He also reached the Baltic League Final. Kurtinaitis also worked with Gala Baku in Azerbaijan, Ural Great Perm, Sakalai in Lithuania and Slask Wroclaw in Poland. He guided the Azerbaijan NT in 2002-06 and worked as assistant coach with the Lithuanian NT.
