Venezia took a two-point advantage at the top of the Italian second division following its thrashing of Casalpusterluengo and Casale’s defeat in Reggio Emilia. Alvin Young and Sylvere Bryan scored 17 points each for the league leaders. Scafati, Udine and Barcellona collected wins to stay 3rd, 4th and 5th, with the latter putting on a show in Verona (86-64) behind 20 points from Bucci, 18 from Crispin and 15 from Hicks. At the bottom, San Severo is left alone with a four-point deficit on the nearest team following its 59-60 defeat against Veroli. On the other hands, keeping hopes of staying up is Forli. Thanks to its 90-82 victory over Jesi, it is now just two points away from three teams: Reggio Emilia, Casalpusterluengo and Verona. With four games to go, the fight to stay up will be close and interesting.
