The first day of the Nike International Junior Tournament tipped off in Barcelona, Spain, already on Thursday and the 8 participants took the floor, and already displayed some of the greatness of the future of European Basketball. In Group A Fenerbahce Ulker edged FMP 80-78 behind a huge block down the stretch by guard Erbil Eroglu who also added 16 points and 5 assists. KK Zagreb downed the 2010 champs of INSEP 76-65 as Dario Saric had a great performance with 19 points and 13 rebounds. In Group B Zalgiris ran over Team China 73-46 in a one sided game as Justas Tamulis and Tauras Jogela scored 14 points each. Crvena Zvezda wrote an upset by beating Regal FC Barcelona 73-56 when Andrija Bojic and Marko Radonjic tailed 14 points each. Tomorrow FMP will seek for its debut win against KK Zagreb, while at the parallel court FB Ulker will hope to remain perfect against the still winless INSEP. Either Team China or Regal FCB will collect a first win in the 3rd game of the day and the closing scene will feature Zalgiris and Crvena Zvezda.
