Unics, CSKA Moscow and Lokomotiv Kuban are tied atop the Russian League standings each with a 6-2 record. CSKA did not find much trouble to thrash Krasnye Krylia 39-79 in Samara on Sunday. Andrey Vorontsevich paced the winners with 15 points. Matjaz Smodis added 14 for CSKA, which led 19-42 at halftime, it boosted its margin to 28-60 after 30 minutes and never looked back. Gerald Green led Krylia with 10 points. Unics downed Enisey 87-63 in Kazan also on Sunday. Terrell Lyday paced the winners with 20 points. Vladimir Veremeenko added 16, Kelly McCarty had 13 while Slavko Vranes pulled down 16 rebounds and had 4 blocks for Unics, which led 49-37 at halftime and kept full control of the game until the final buzzer. Lokomotiv survived a tough test by downing BC Khimki Moscow Region. Mike Wilkinson led Loko with 22 points. Kresimir Loncar had 21 points for Khimki while Travis Hansen added 10. Loko led 69-57 with under 7 minutes left and even when Khimki got within 71-66, Wilkinson sealed the outcome in crunch time. In the other games, Spartak St. Petersburg topped Dynamo Moscow 71-82 while Nizhniy Novgorod beat Triumph Lyubertsy 69-82 with 21 points from Valentin Yurchik.
