Maccabi Electra signed point guard Yogev Ohayon to a three-year deal, the club announced Tuesday. Ohayon (1.88 meters, 24 years old) arrives from rival Hapoel Jerusalem, where he averaged 4.8 points, 3 assists and 1.5 steals per game in the Eurocup and 8.5 points, 5.3 assists and 1.8 steals per game in the Israeli League. He ranked sixth in the league in both assists and steals. Ohayon developed in the youth teams at Hapoel Galil Elyon and made his debut with the senior team there as a 17-year-old. After four seasons with Galil at the professional level, he spent the 2008-09 campaign with Ironi Nahariya before moving to Jerusalem for the past two. Ohayon is also a regular with the Israeli national team, with whom he is expected to play at EuroBasket 2011 this summer.
