Lokomotiv Kuban added more fire power to its roster by inking shooting guard KC Rivers to a one-year deal, the club announced Friday. Rivers (1.96 meters, 24 years old) arrives from Canadian Solar Bologna, where he averaged 17.3 points and 4.4 rebounds in 17 Italian League games last season. He had started the 2010-11 season with Chorale Roanne, averaging 10.2 points and 3.3 rebounds in 6 Eurocup games before joining Virtus. Rivers graduated from Clemson University in 2009 and joined A.B. Latina from the Italian Legadue, where he averaged 24.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.8 steals per game in his first professional stop. He moved to Benetton Basket midway through the 2009-10 season before joining Roanne. Rivers was a college star at Clemson and left the school as its all-time leader in games won (91), games played (134) and three-pointers made (281). "KC Rivers is a very important signing for us. He is a fast player that makes his teammates play better and has a lot of Eurocup experience," Lokomotiv coach Bozidar Maljkovic said. "His adaptation to our team will be very fast”.
