With all the criticism that came along during the regular season, LeBron James and co must have a nice smile with ‘sweet revenge’ written all over it. Yes, because the disorganised bunch of stars without much of a decent bench came up big at the right time: the playoffs. It ousted the Celtics and now flied past the superb defensive Bulls, with the MVP of the season Rose. Five games and done, into the finals. Hard to explain. Could it be that the Heat finally had the pressure off their shoulder? that from expecting them to win five championships in a row, nobody really expected them to do much after an average regular season? Could it be on the contrary that there was too much pressure on Rose’s shoulder? That he was designated as the best in the NBA and had to deliver the first NBA title since the Jordan era in Windy city? Whatever the reasons, the Heat played again like they could not lose down the stretch, even with a 12-point deficit and hardly 3 minutes to play. That’s when, Miami went on a crazy rally, fuelled by huge baskets from LeBron James, a guy a could not buy a bucket in the last seconds all season. Ironic. The Heat will challenge the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA finals. The first of five championships?!
