Avellino announced the signing of Domen Lorbek. Born in 1985, the Slovenian small forward will meet up again with coach Vitucci, who was the assistant when the player was at Treviso in 2008. Lorbek won the European Championships Under 20 with his national team in 2005 and finished fourth with the senior team in the Eurobasket 2009.
“I am happy to have sealed the roster - said coach Vitucci – Domen is a very different player from (Omar) Thomas, who he will substitute. We decided not to take a poor version of Thomas and instead chose somebody with totally different characteristics. Domen has great technique, he understands the game, he comes from a family who lives off basketball. I personally know him very well as I coached him in Treviso, he will be very much appreciated, he’s a great professional and a hard worker”.
