Unics did not find much trouble to down Nizhniy Novgorod 66-76 on the road on Saturday. Terrell Lyday paced the winners with 22 points. Vladimir Veremeenko added 19 while Ricky Minard had 17 for Unics, that led 32-40 at halftime, it boosted its margin to 48-63 after 30 minutes and kept a double-digit margin almost all the way until the final buzzer. Dynamo Moscow provided the biggest surprise in this round by edging CSKA 64-70 in the Moscow derby also on Saturday. Nikita Shabalkin paced the winners with 21 points. Ramunas Siskauskas led CSKA with 17 points. CSKA led 61-57 with 2 minutes left but Shabalkin had 6 points in a 1-10 run that sealed the outcome, 62-67, with 20 seconds to go. BC Khimki moved up to 8-5 by edging Spartak 69-77 in St. Petersburg on Saturday behind 20 points from Keith Langford. Kreso Loncar added 12 while Sergey Monya and Aleksey Savrasenko each had 10 for Khimki, that led 47-63 after 30 minutes. Spartak managed to get within 69-74 with a minute left but a free throw by Vitaliy Fridzon and a dunk by Savrasenko sealed the outcome down the stretch. Krasnye Krylia moved up to 4-9 by edging Loko 80-72 with 20 points from JR Bremer. Andrey Trushkin added 12 while Primoz Brezec had 11 for Krylia, that trailed 51-55 after 30 minutes. A 9-0 run gave Krylia the lead for good, 60-55, and a put-back basket by Konstantin Nesterov sealed the outcome, 76-66. In other games, Triumph thrashed Enisey 92-74.
