Eurocup debutante Lokomotiv Kuban announced on Wednesday the addition of power forward Artem Zabelin for the next season. Zabelin (2.15 meters, 23 years old) arrives from Russian champs CSKA Moscow where he has been the last four campaigns. Last season Zabelin averaged 4.5 points and 2.5 rebounds in 10 Russian League games. He had a token appearance in the Euroleague as he only managed to appear for a few seconds in one single game. In August of 2008, Zabelin suffered a severe knee injury that forced him to skip the entire 2008-09 campaign, but he came back with strength to contribute for his team. He started his career with Avtodor Saratov in 2003. In 2005 he moved to Dynamo St. Petersburg but he was back to Saratov for the 2006-07 season. It was in the summer of 2007 when Zabelin joined perennial Russian champ CSKA.
